In the Eagleview-Verisk case, one can be read from multiple links, for one https://www.kirkland.com/news/in-the-news/2019/01/eagleview-aerial-patents-withstand-rivals-alice-c, the words “EagleView countered in a sealed reply that the human mind is incapable of performing this type of three-dimensional modeling and calculations.” I have not been able to find the link where Judge Kugler actually stated that he “found” this to be the case, but I recall seeing it, and being astounded that the Judge thought that it was significant that the human mind could not make the calculations used by the software, and I was surprised that Verisk's lawyers could not dispute the Judge Kugler's line of thought.

Anyhow, little is swerved by this discussion on HC, so we may as well wait to see what happens.

That easy win over Verisk may have misguided Eagleview to think it could tangle with NEA. I think all that will transpire is that Nearmap will garner useful publicity.
