The single share transactions are not short sales as these are borrowed from brokers who allow it and report the gross amount to the ASX. I have always thought of those single trades as related to ETF movements and/or manipulators. There were no additional gross short sales for RCE yesterday or for the last few days on either asx or chix. The .36% of stock on the issue (about $500k) short sold remains about the same and has actually has fallen in the last few days. These shorters will be the ones who short every major announcement with a biotech. You'd have to agree that most biotech announcements are not positive. If say 2/3 were negative you profit big time. It is an interesting strategy to make profit but I think RCE will be slightly different when they announce - neutral announcement or positive). If it is negative, we go down bigtime as there is nothing left to support the current SP. Traders will be factoring in this current risk and will nearly always result in a net sell down. How many times do you see a share price trail down and jump on expected good news. The only exception is a leaky boat.
I am perhaps stupidly holding too many but I am a believer though my loss will be immense if they got nothing.
