Fair enough, but the Federal Government isn't exactly a bastion of wisdom when it comes to grants. A lot of grants are just pork barrelling in certain electorates. Plus these grants help the government look like they care about the transition to renewable energy, without doing much at all. I'm not saying Hydroxide isn't in CXO's (very long-term) future, it's just not on the cards within the next 8-10 years. A cursory glance at the economics of a hydroxide refinery and it is obvious that it is next to impossible for all but the largest players. Comments about hydroxide will generate interest sure, but unless someone can explain where the money will come from, I doubt that it will ever happen. For example, Stage 1 alone of the Kwinana Hydroxide Plant was ~$700 million. If it were that easy, PLS, MIN and ORE would already be cracking on with it...
