Comparing NASDAQ tracker ETFs - Australia based NDQ listed on ASX to
QQQ (Invesco) USA based quoted in USD.
Question:
Why has NDQ performed so poorly compared to QQQ over the last 12 months when the exchange rate over the period has barely changed?
Here are the numbers:
NDQ
30 Aug 2020 price A$27.16
30 Aug 2021 price A$33.72
Gain = 24%
QQQ
30 Aug 2020 price US$260.12
30 Aug 2021 price US$372.42
Gain =43%
AUD/USD very little changed over period.
Have asked this question to Betashares, waiting for answer, maybe I'm missing something obvious?
