Yes, it is hard to see why WA and Qld would want to kill some number of their citizens.
'Typhoid-Gladys' in NSW is trying to turn a necessity into a virtue.
NSW is going to "lead the way" in "living with covid..." because they locked down too late, too soft and now have to live, or more aptly, die, with covid.
That said, as we see overseas, high vaccination levels and accepting 'some indeterminate number' of deaths from covid is pretty much the end-state for every country.
It's hard to imagine no travel permitted into WA, Tas and Qld for the next decade. There is still a Commonwealth of Australia.
So, those States need to learn the lesson Scomo didn't learn - about proceeding to vaccinate without delay, despite no current local incidence.
The smaller States have lesser hospital capacity and the bigger States may reach, and exceed ours, so won't be in a position to help much, if at all.
I hope the citizens in WA and Qld make use of the period of grace they have been granted. It is hard to see the virus not taking hold there at some point, whether in 6 weeks or 6 months.
Vaccination is a race, and the starter's pistol has fired.
Ps It's been nice (and weird) to see crowds enjoying the footy. I wish we were still in that lovely, covid-free situation and if we were, I'd be very reluctant to give it up!
