This post (in February 2017) was made after I sold a lot of my EDE shares in mid 2016 (I originally purchased 1.2 million EDE shares in 2014 at .0096).
I indeed did hold my leftover EDE shares for a number of years. I also topped up several times in 2017 and in later years at much lower prices, and also took some profits, but also some losses (during this time I also accumulated FMG, FNT, SLX and CNJ shares, most of which I still have).
I also switched in and out of TAS and EDE at least once in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 (sometimes with a small loss, sometmes with a small profit). I am currently sitting on a slight loss on my 3.5 million TAS shares. I currently hold no EDE shares.
I must admit that I almost never changed my buy/sell sentiment on either the EDE or TAS forum, as I often considered that both EDE and TAS were a buy (momentary snap shots are just that). This was also due to the fact that my own personal share portfolio and overall financial position were of course vastly different to most investors on HC.
Indeed, here HC should do some serious rethinking about their disclosure and sentiment regulations, which are constantly open to interpretation (momentary snap shots are just that), as well as potential manipulation. At the very least they are very confusing. In fact, in my case, I could have changed by sentiment a number of times a year, and each and every year. This I did not do, however, I would suggest that the same applies to the majority of HC forum posters. Of course if you never hold, this another, and far easier story.
To be clear, and to be 100% honest, when I am making decisions about buying and selling large parcels of my various ASX shares, the last thing on my mind is to change my sentiment/disclosure on HC. Perhaps HC need a rule that everytime a forum member buys or sells a share, they need to make an official disclure. In fact, my friend who is often on German television as a business reporter, must disclose his share ownership position every time he reports on a share. This is pretty simple. I don't really see why HC should be any different. The devil of course lies in the details.
Returning to my post, as you can see I made the following statement "If I sell at all, it will be in 5 years time when the EDE & TAS SP's are both over $5.00". In hindsight this was a really stupid statement from me, and for the following three reasons:
1. It was based on EDE's EdenCrete sales/production timetable (which was already looking very shakey in February 2017).
2. 5 year SP forecasts are almost never right. Even a 12 month SP forecast is difficult. My mistake!
3. My personal financial situation changed i.e. I bought an apartment, and there were other very attractive share trading opportunities that arose i.e.
FMG, FNT, SLX and CNJ on the ASX, Tesla, Ballard Power, Daimler, etc. elsewhere.
Summing up, every post on HC is a momentary snap shot i.e. 5 minutes after you have made a post, the entire situation could change, i.e. the company makes announcement (good or bad), you get hit by a bus, diagnosed with cancer, floods and fire, wife runs off with your best friend (good or bad), global economic news (good or bad), COVID, WWIII etc. I strongly doubt that here on HC you will see very many posters saying "forget what I posted yesterday, everything has now changed". Having said this, the latter is probably exactly what most posters should actually do (at least me?). Although, each poster's major concern should be to immediately take the appropriate measures to either lock in their profits or limit their losses (and thus live to fight another day). It is precisely this lack of immediate action that often separates the winners from the losers.
In this regard, I will be the first to admit that my first thought is my own personal financial well-being, and not that of anonymous HC forum members, who I don't know from a bar of soap. Aren't we all the same?
Having said this, my own personal editorial responsibilty on HC has become extremely apparent to me (not sure about the others here on HC?).
Therefore, I have long since stopped making ludicrous and potentially misleading long-term SP forecasts.
