I have studied Chemistry, Physics and to a lesser degree materials at University and understand Graphene properties well. The hundreds of times stronger then steel references that keep coming up are bond strengths, that is the strength in the bonds of two or more adjacent carbon atoms. As I keep saying it’s strong on a micro level. Much stronger than steel but not on a macro level so it can not be used structurally.

It can be used as a doping agent and it will increase the strength of steel. It could be used as a micro thin coating to steel and other structural materials to give all sorts of awesome properties. The steel or other structural material would never rust, I imagine it could be used to make micro thin solar panels, so your car could be coated with a solar panel charging your car. Think those tiny wafer thin computer screens you see on Sci-fi shows. I honestly believe it will become the most important material of the future, just won’t be used structurally.
