I supose we all got paid by now and so all this is just
academic.

Just talking psychology now, which company is better loved?

The one that says I will pay you on 28th and gives u the money 1 minutee past midnight or the one who says I will will pay you on the 28th and gives u the money 23:59?
(All others things being equal).

When AJA made the announcement there was nobody standing with the gun to their head, saying u must pay us on Friday 28th. The company themselves, came with this "beatuy" on or about 28th August.

Well they missed the first half of the about. They nearly missed 28th.

So, my sugestion what their announcement should have been is : 4th week in August and no latter than midnight 28th.

Or better still: Company will initiate the distributions at 10am on 28th August by directing its bank to proceed as instructed. Please allow for normal banking transfer processes for funds to reach your account.

You see, the English language can be a lot more precice without commiting yourself to anything.
