Mt Conqueror bought it from Aloren (a part of the Ballarat Goldfields setup if I recall right run by old Vic gold man fred hunt and some other guy)....... Mt Conqueror was a small exploration play/shell set up by a friend of mine julian reynolds and he and his brother John were major holders...... their man Bird was put on the board of mt conqey at the time I recall........several years after it's set up, it went from some central western tenements to the purchase of the morning star mine..... that was early 90s when I bought in because i figured it was the first good asset mco had held........ I think after westerns quit the mine in 59, some parties set up a company led by the former mine manager and part funding by a Govt grant....... so lindsay clark had quit it and headed west and into nickel mainly with wmc and I think the company was called morning star mines no liability between like '60 and the final closure in 62 or 63....... that is stretching the memory a tad but nought happened except for local fossickers for 30 years after that....... sad really...... although not now for us!!!!!
