Ajaydee 73,
Your Comment: "I actually have a Bachelor of Commerce. You only really learn the basics with such a degree. It's not enough to give you a trading style. You still have to develop that yourself. Maybe a Masters is different. I haven't done one yet."
My Comment: I have a degree in economics & a graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment. No interest in Masters etc. Neither of these qualifications was of any really benefit to what I do. I have met plenty of business/economic lecturers who may be very clever individuals, but unfortunately don't have a clue in the sharemarket. Even met one "highly qualified US Associate professor" who lectures in Australia at post graduate business levels who thought buying a house/industrial property in 2004 was too high a risk. What chance would a student have learning from this guy. He was simply a wage earner who knew about a bell shaped curve & would give the students plenty of misinformation, while they paid a HEC bill for this rubbish.
Successful investing/trading isn't about formal education & bits of paper it about have some competitive advantage in the area you operate i.e. better research/thinking. Following the herd can only produce inferior results. Far too many "investors" take too much notice of TV & newspaper reports, broker reports, fund manager comments. This rubbish is for the masses, better take the time & get the real answers yourself.

Buffett
