    I've seen multiple people suggest that ASX "must" announce this. I'm not sure why. No one has been able to answer with something logical.

    Court cases happen all the time. Can you imagine how many announcements the big 4 banks would make if they had to announce every time someone tried to sue them? And yes, the banks get sued for hundreds of millions regularly.
