This latest report has vindicated my cautiousness and emphasised concerns I shared re: market share in China.
First mover advantage matters less and less. Other international brands with deeper pockets making inroads. Local companies gaining a larger foothold.
Covid & political shenanigans + lack of agility at management level have unfortunately dealt a long term blow to the company's prospects, in my opinion.
In hindsight, losing Jayne might have been the biggest thwack to the company. Complacent fat cat executives who thought IF + China was all A2 would ever need knew they were in the proverbial and jumped ship near the peak.
I think there is a point in the future where the SP will not be in a slump. That's it. Even post-covid with a recovered diagou, I think you'd be kidding yourself that A2 makes a screaming comeback.
The A2 Milk Company's best days could well be in the rearview mirror.
If I were a buyer on it's upside move, my aspirations now would be to get out at breakeven, or get out at a loss and recoup elsewhere.
