Okay, I’m a noob when it comes to shorting, so forgive me if this is wildly incorrect, but isn’t the issue that shorters need to cover now? I thought they needed to buy whatever stock they can and, given how little supply everyone’s expecting, they’ll be forced to pay whatever sellers decide until they hit their million or so units.
Or is the idea that they create artificial abundance by selling stock they happen to hold? I don’t really get how they’re going to coax enough shares that way...? Before the book got wiped there weren’t even enough sells to cover their total.
