Just one comment about the 60km as being irrelevant - the Bushvelt complex in South Africa extends over more than that area and one of the reefs (Merenski Reef) seems to underly it all.
Not saying the Merenski Chromitite structure is what we have in the Perth district but there is plenty of room to fit Julimar, PUR, MAN, DEV, CPN and many more on the map.

My layman's take is that the same magma erupted over the whole Bushvelt igneous complex producing its unique signature of PGM deposits - AND that could have happened here too - there will be variability of course but the prospect for success among the CHN lookalikes is real.
