Just an attempt at some Tuesday afternoon humour in relation to the Melbourne/Sydney thing. Obviously, your humour gene is turned off.

As to your comments that my comments are xenophobic, this is more disturbing as really it is just shorthand for saying my comments are racist. I have repeated my post here - perhaps you can tell me what is racist about it? And for the record, I am an immigrant, albeit of the all white kind. And my wife is also an immigrant, but not of the all white kind.

Standard of living is higher in terms of material resources and a GDP type of measurement.

But if you look at increased housing density, less green space, less backyard cricket, less parks, deforestation, pollution of the rivers and oceans, global warming etc, then there is a very strong argument that these are the downside of high population growth.

Seriously, do you not think the world would be a better place with a population of 1 billion instead of 6 billion or whatever it is now?

You don't have to be a rabid right wing shock jock to be concerned about overpopulation and the environment. And stupid policies like those of major religions that ban the use of contraceptives or Government policies that incentivise more children."
