My friend, it is a fact that people in high profile positions do not simply quit and slam the door behind them.
It doesn't look very impressive to a future employer!
Quite often, they only quit after they have already sought a new position, and remain there to show good faith.

Or, just a thought, what if his new position will not be ready for a few months yet, ???? I wonder where it could possibly be?
