I concede what you say is probably the smart way to play it. It would not require selling off much at this price to cover my initial investment and bank some extra.
Maybe I'm a complete dumb arse? The mates I tipped in LTR have been in my ear for over 12 months to sell some, but I can't bring myself to do it. I believe so much in this project and management, I can't think where else I would rather have my money. So, contrary to your assumption, I have never sold a single share and have no plans to do so in the near future. My kids are still in high school, so retiring early for lifestyle options is not really an option right now anyhow. I am looking at cutting down to 3 days rather than 5 days though. I am fortunate to have a high paying job anyway so the only pressure to sell would be for luxury items, which I can do without.
I remember feeling like a dumb arse, in front of my wife, several years ago when I had a meeting with my bank and their investment advisory team and they mocked my LTR holding. They wanted to sell my LTR holding and completely takeover my portfolio.
Nothing like being made to feel like a loser in front of your wife. I'd live to have a meeting with those same people now and see the look on their faces. I suspect many of them have moved on as they often do in the banking industry anyway.
Nothing is certain and, I must admit, I still fear those bankers will still be proven correct one day but so far I'm doing ok following TG's lead.
