The Buy/Hold brigade are long-term, patient investors not fixated on daily share price movements and are willing to allow the company the time it needs to complete its work. In fact I'd suggest that most long termers see this is a more favourable environment than being invested in an over-hyped stock with a frothy share price. It's certainly not their responsibility to prop up the share price although undoubtedly some will take advantage periodically to increase their holding.
