Regs just saying that the feedback loops to fert demand are no longer as simple as they were in the first round of major grain price increases.

Even if I knew fertilizer prices were to rise before next harvest I would still delay purchases whereas in the early stages of the ag boom you may have taken rising prices as a cue to load up before they went higher ... it all comes down to debt management now more than ever. Rising input prices before rising grain prices forces you to look to back your input use off.

Whilst I sound negative I am still hopeful grain prices will be awoken by the reality of some drought hit areas this year eg Argentina, NE China, India, Alberta, NE Australia ... but the USDA appears hell bent on making sure news that influences prices negativity is digested by the market. A bunch of manipulative crooks ... all this talk of record US crops and yet fertilizer prices reflect a poor year for usage? Doesn't add up ...
