"I can't actually believe many consumers don't pay attention to how useful this sort of tech is." That should be a warning sign for you.
I have held MDR for over 4 years. Unlike a lot of holders I am still green but can't say I am happy with the total return on my investment. This is mostly my fault for not selling at $0.60.
The art of investing is buy low and sell high so you are somewhere near the low on MDR but of course maybe not the ultimate low.
You'll need to weigh an investment here against other stocks in the healthcare industry which you should know equally well. I can't give you advice, you need to decide based on your own research, risk tolerance and patience.
The last thread on here is devoted to trying to imagine a universe in which MDR can generate sufficient returns from it's great tech to attract sufficient interest and liquidity to drive it's price back to it's historical highs. I think I can speak for most holders in saying we can imagine this but don't see it happening anytime soon. You need to consider this if investing.
I've been an active member on HC for 22 years. So a friendly warning that asking for investment advice on a stock here is like Mrs Chicken engaging Fox & Co's babysitting service. Be very careful.
My best advice to sort the wheat from the chaff on HC is to select stocks you are interested in, look for highly rated posts on recent threads by one or 2 posters (especially try to find an intelligent poster who is not a fan of the stock to balance the commentary), follow those posters for 6 months and see if they actually know what they are doing and not just lucky on one stock in a portfolio dross. If you are primarily interested in healthcare you'll notice the same posters holding multiple stocks in the sector
It's pretty simple, just takes time when you instinctively just want to get amongst it.
As they say, act in haste repent at leisure. Then again, it's only money.
