I was trying to workout the net pay zone required in Kingia formation to roughly equate the gas reserves found in Erregulla-2 using the estimated area of the reservoir as the only variable.
Strike had an estimated reservoir area of 25sq km with a net pay zone of 41 metres that resulted in 1 Tcf from Kingia alone.
NWE estimated reservoir area is 67sq km so to have 1 Tcf from Kingia, (assuming other factors are comparable) the required net pay zone is 25/67*41= 15.3 metres. NWE mentioned that the area can be as big as 108sq km so there seems to be excellent upside potential. Also i have been told by my colleagues that due to shallower depth, LD-1 may have better porosity than Erregulla-2.
Still a lot to be confirmed through logging and production testing and there are many variables but it looks very promising at the moment.
