Sayona has locked in 50% of all future production at a floor price of US$500 & a cap of US$900 i.e a MAXIMUM of US$900.
It literally means that if SYA was producing 200,000tpa today, they would be selling 100,000/tpa to Piedmont at US$900, who based on todays announcement could then onsell it for US$2,500 CIF basis and make US$1,600/t or US$160M for doing next to nothing.
Great deal for PLL, terrible for SYA to have accepted a maximum cap of $900/t
