I agree to some of this, where there are parts which are completely false and given my knowledge of how m&a works, I think you’ll find that you’re grasping at straws with this belief. You are correct in that shorts (generally) won’t critically impact an m&a deal, but it does impact it and it is a considerable variable, particularly when assessing the whys and who’s.
in terms of instos and funds taking a position, well that all depends. The question is, why haven’t they, and why aren’t they, especially given everything is blue skies and to the moon, and we’re trading on some of the lowest multiples we’ve ever had
