No - I think its more likely that Downforce have tendered for the logistics and may try to put a track in with a Dozer and sub-contract in a tracked drill rig, but in the event that this track does not happen for whatever reason they probably have a small skid mounted/man portable/small rig that can be disassembled and slung in pieces and then rebuilt on site, this all takes time, and the drawback of smaller rigs like this is always smaller holes, slower drilling and limited depth. Some of the smaller tracked rigs can get into pretty wild places but they are slow when crawling around.
Mi26 helicopters are tens of thousands of dollars per hour to operate and I think other posters are jesting with us about them,
I'm sure something more modest and sensible like a Jetranger with a sling would be whats at Mt Isa, but there is a limit to what a Jetranger can lift. Dont forget all the drill rods, tanks and water to site if they are going diamond, if its a small RC drill they still need the RC rods and a booster/compressor. And fuel.
Thats why 99.9% of drill programs in Australia have access tracks for vehicles and utes.
I would like to see the photo of this smaller Downforce drill rig, and then I'll know if its really coming in by helicopter, and in how many pieces, so we can guess how long that will take. Everything I have seen on the Downforce drilling web site is traditional truck mounted rigs, so thats why I'm curious.
