IMO the USA should have compulsory voting to demonstrate
that it truely is a representative democracy.
If 57% of eligible voters vote and the government scrapes in
with 50.5% of the vote , then technically it is representing
only 28.8% of the total electorate, not a paragon of representative
democracy IMO.
In the USA those who dont vote are highly weighted in the lower
quartile of income.
