There's nothing wrong with being critical of your investments. I was a rusted on long until yesterday and this deal was a bit of a shock. I expected a JV but not 50% for that contribution.
I want to continue to hold and would like to think there is a bright future and further share price appreciation ahead from here for INR holders, but would like to do so on an informed basis using accurate analysis.
There was a lot of people screaming yesterday that this was a terrible deal and posting incorrect calcs to suggest that.
There were also many saying it was a great deal but with no substance whatsoever to back it up. Just she'll be right mate, I've got 30 years of corporate deal experience, seen it back in the day in XYZco etc. That's not analysis that's ignorance.
I'm somewhere in the middle. My initial thoughts on reading the announcement was it didn't look like a great outcome for INR holders in the short term, but does have some positives and might work out well in the long term. The market backed me up there clearly.
This isn't about proving a point- I would rather be wrong - hence why I'm posting on here. I'd be happy for you to prove me wrong. Just because I'm long doesn't mean I have to think the deal is positive, that's a very blinkered way to look at your investments - confirmation bias.
