He's been asked for his opinion and he's given it

just as Yann lecunn gave his opinion on spiking neural networks

jem has just retired from his position after X years leading the company through many decisions that didn't involve spiking neural networks .. if he thought spiking neural networks were worth pursuing, he would have made different decisions

but just because jem has an opinion on spiking neural networks or neuromorphic doesn't mean he is the authority.

why would the military industrial complex be pursuing biologically inspired neural networks if they weren't more performant?

why would Mike Davies of Intel publically spat with Yann LeCun for the exact same premise?

experts in the field disagree all the time. It happens.

    each opinion is valid.

when you ask Jem his opinion on twitter, you are going to get his opinion. You need to respect it for what it is, his opinion.

nice work to the questioner though, it's always great to see a respectful engagement taking place on social media.
