SURELY, Government had plans, post announcement, as the effect of such was to piss an awful lot of countries off; and not all enemies.
Whose permission should we seek to make decisions? Perhaps the UN? Why not the EU?
SURELY we, AUSTRALIANS, have the right to make decisions that serve our interests just like all those countries that similarly make decisions in their interests. When the UK was admitted to the EEC in 1973 we were dumped as a trading partner. Did the Brits lose any sleep knowing we would be pissed off. I don't think so.
