The Goverment is likely to retain a signifiant percent of the mine, the locals will be the majority of the workers, the local town will get electricity, education will be supported and other programs will be implemented to improve the lives of the people of Manono. I don't find it hilarious at all. A SEZ is good for buisness. Done properly and well, which I believe this SEZ will be, it will be the main driver of eeconimc growth for the people of Manono - as well as making the Government some handsome profits.

Incredible what Felix is currently achieving. Securing a loan from the IMF and actually getting senior officials in the CCP to come out in support for their prosecution of exploitive mining deals by Chinese companies is extraordinary - I just marvel at the political manouvering this would have taken. Our own political leaders look hopeless in comparison. The recent submarine deal comes to mind. What a mess.

There is no Green Revolution of the future without the DRC, the East and West both know it. They will continue to battle for supremacy over the DRC as without the raw materials they will be starved of any effective action on climate change. Who better to have at the helm than Felix? Little wonder they gave him chair of the African Union and the most powerful economy in Europe, Germany, can't seem to have enough of him.

I feel honoured to be involved in a small part in the change of Africa's sleeping giant.

Let's hope our overpaid executives deliver, so we can play our part in the transformation of this country
