I said I wasn't going to post on topic again, but having reflected over the week, I think I may owe Dr Heaton an apology. My language was certainly intemperate. If I sounded harsh, believe me, I am much, much harsher on myself.

When I first started out as an advocate, I would over-prepare my appearances to the point where I would repeat my submissions to myself, over and over again. I would even do mock presentations to family and friends. Anyone who would offer constructive criticism. The law is an adversarial profession, and it doesn't get much more cut throat than the court room. That's why I was irked. Let's just say my buttons were pushed. But, still, this is a public forum. I should have expressed myself differently.

No one says it's easy. Far from it. But it can become easier with preparation and visualisation. And practice. Lots of it.

Anyway, this really IS my last post on this topic.
