"Peter Battern hasn't told shareholders why listing on the TXS is necessary"

Actually he did. On the company newsletter released 9th June 09.

You can read his whole interview here

Or to answer your question, I just copied again what he said about TSX listing

    -----------------------------------------------------
You have a track record of increasing shareholder value. Bannerman’s share price increased from approximately 7 cents after the 3:1 share split to over $4 whilst you were MD.
You took that fledgling company to Bank Feasibility, significantly increased its uranium resource base, and listed the company on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).
What do you plan to achieve for White Canyon in the next 12 months?

The intention is to continue with the established company line of production and the TSX listing. I intend to grow the company through a combination of expansion through exploration of the current assets, new regional exploration of conceptual targets within the current tenement holdings, and the pursuit and purchase of opportunities both

already known and identified and what we expect to be opportunities presented to us as the regions newest uranium producer.
    -----------------------------------------------------
How did the listing of Bannerman on the TSX (ASX: BMN, TSX: BAN, NSX: BMN) affect the company?

By listing on the TSX Bannerman became visible to a greater market and gained access to a larger pool of educated investors. The Canadian market understands uranium through its history and exposure to uranium mining better than the Australian market.
Through Bannermans’ success, I came into contact with a very wide network of investors, brokers and bankers that I found informed and knowledgeable about the industry and its requirements. I see the value in listing for White Canyon in the enthusiasm of the Canadian market to not only invest in uranium but to invest specifically in uranium production in North Americ
