However, management have proclaimed this a tier 1 resource and it seems the market is already beginning to price in that KV will be mined. This would imply the DFS is going to be favourable and there are number of reasons for this, the forecasted price of lithium being just one.

PFS
Preliminary step.
Prelim. metallurgical test work is done.
Prelim. assessment of best way to process the material such as floatation, gravity concentration or leaching.
Cost and production estimates.
Identify safety issues in the processing
Identify other project obstacles they may run into. None of these parameters are as comprehensive as at the DFS stage.

DFS
The question ‘To mine or not to mine’ is resolved at the DFS stage. By now all processing parameters have been through detailed and accurate metallurgical test-work has occurred.
The goal of the DFS is to hopefully show to the market, the project is financially and technically robust to support a long life operation.
