    Rudd sees himself as a master essayist and polemicist. However, his writings reveal a shallow and partisan view of history. He reminds me of a dull but earnest undergraduate economic history student - long on rhetoric but very short on honest, intelligent analysis.

    Trying to place himself in the context of Australian political history after 18 months in office (in which he achieved precisely nothing) shows what a deluded meglomaniac he is. He seems to want to govern and simultaneously provide a commentary, in which he is inclined to heap generous praise on himself. Get on with governing, Kevvie and let future historians judge your government.

    What's the official ALP line on this one Dave R?
