I think 4wd should be taxed to buggery in the city....how many toorak tractors, chapel hill weekend warriors do we have to endure on our city steets...
they are unsafe for most other road users, in that they are more dangerous to other cars in a crash, there are problems reversing them (see Phil Kearns unfortunate accident a few years back) and some people driving them act like they are driving a tank...and you can't see over them while driving
most 4wd that i see are in pristine condition...barely a scrape of dirt on them
in rural and semi rural areas they are perfectly justified...not in suburban australia where the greatest issue they might have is getting up the driveway!!!
