Whilst it is true that conservative governments have, from time to time, raised the prospect of a takeover of our believed country by Communist thugs, such a possibility can not, by any rational person, be totally ruled out as a possibility. Without our long term reliance on the democratic USA, we would long ago, have fallen under, either the Chinese or Japanese sword,Anyone who is not aware of such a possibility is either an absolute fool or an Australian with no strong adherence to Western democratic principles.
