yes, the collapse of Evergrande will send ripples far and wide.
will it cause a 2008 style total market implosion - no. The CCP will not allow this to happen and will provide a bail out in some form for State exposure. However, private US investors exposed to Evergrande's debt will suffer losses. Again, whilst not pretty I don't think we'll have systemic issues. Just a bit of red to dampen our party.
there's a fair list of US hedgys exposed to Evergrande -
so I'd be expecting they freak out too. but I'm not selling everything and moving it all to gold just yetI'm only doing that when the Fed begins lifting rates........
