Or maybe you are so well off, that you think everyone who has a high conviction on something ought to be able to fork out $120,000 for a court challenge that is for the greater good? A bit out of touch with the financial pressures that ordinary Australians might feel Madam? I am sure $120,000 would come pretty easy to you.

Your wedge is just as brilliant as the EV road tax itself, because with most people still being ICE drivers, it is a surefire electoral winner.

While I think it is a truly stupid tax (in the context of the article I posted above about how Norway's early adoption of EVs has brought EV prices down for less well-of nations around the world), any attempt by EV drivers to fight it allows them to be labelled as a bunch of "western elitists who don't want to pay tax".

I do not get your point for highlighting this. If they are lucky enough to be able to charge their EVs from their own rooftop solar, they basically can run them for free. Believe it or not, some EVs are cheap enough so that if you can get your fuel essentially for free, due to their higher efficiency and lower maintenance costs, they already are cheaper over their lifetime than ICE cars. Or do you just loathe the fact that for their personal circumstances it might make sense, but not for everyone else?
