I'm in full agreement with you Nolan. Even though I am usually a long term holder and ignore the swings I should of at least trimmed my FMG holdings after the SP moved thru the death cross when @h00ts pointed out when it was about to occur.

I did it after the same event befell my A2M holdings and although a few dollars from the top allowed me to still lock in a 11 bagger after 6 years. The decider for me at the time was reading nearly all the management posting notices of a massive sell downs of nearly every share they previously tightly held.

FMG was the complete opposite with top management continuing to add to their already substancial holdings but even that in the end does not stop the SP tracking the movement of the IO price. It's also a lesson in not ticking the DRP box in future as those shares are now down 20% before they have even hit our accounts.

I am lucky that this time around I am not 80% in a non dividend paying stock and have over a dozen other stocks that continue to pay dividends well in excess of our needs.

Even if the SP continues to plumb new yearly lows and the dividend shrinks I can ride it out and not be a forced seller. Unfortunately many others both retail and institutional holders won't have that luxury. Too many newbie posters carrying on that the long term outlook is toast when in fact with IO has always been cyclical. It can't be replaced and the SP tracks it's demand. Every bust is followed by a boom as night follows day. The question is when will our biggest purchaser of our product ramp up steel production again. Talk has been later this year but I can't see it now till after next year's Olympic games. I don't envy the job ahead of the CCP in sorting out a mess of their own doing all the time while not loosing face in front of their constituents. Feel for their people and hope one day they can peacefully transition from a totalitarian government to something better. Don't know if you can run a country once it gets their population size and get things done in a timely manner in a democracy.
