If MGT management could make an announcement that reverses worldwide IO sentiment, I'm sure they would.

MGT might not make it to production. Everyone invested is aware of that possibility.

You'd expect if management knew they were sitting on a huge house of cards, they would be throwing out all sorts of nothing announcements to try prop it up. They are hopefully focused on getting this to production in 3+ years. When they have news, material or otherwise, they will release it per their disclosure obligations.
