Tax returns lodged with an accountant are not due to 31st March, 2022 or mid May 2022 if under special arrangement, and therefore, their tax bill is not due until this period.
I'm sorry, but directors selling a block of shares at this time of the year and at current levels, esp. prior to expected news, doesn't make sense to me. Surely, with good news over the next 6 month due, other insto's and fund managers would have been happy to take the approx. 1mill shares off them for a higher price.
To me, the directors are not overly confident with the upcoming news and are hedging their bets by selling a few.
