I uptick you post because its an excellent post....

I've just been reading the first Punic war history and when it comes down to reality, if China hasn't owned Taiwan for at least 50 years..... china has no legitimate claim on Taiwan.

the island has been an independent state since being declared Japanese territory by the Qing dynasty 1885. The people of Taiwan asserted this claim after WW2.

I recognise it moot after doing a bit of reading......
