Why would PLS sign long term offtakes when they are getting over 2 grand a tonne on the BMX platform? Nobody else is getting near that, it is in fact double anybody else’s record price. Also no other suppliers have any spare capacity at the minute so PLS can keep auctioning spod for record prices as they have 200k tonnes a year coming online from the mine they bought when the financially retarded next door neighbours went bankrupt.
Lets wait and see what happens after ken has sent a few samples of the Calix material to converters to see how keen they are for it. Also there are giggafactories and such springing up all over Europe, let’s just see how many of the EU lithium projects are actually able to deliver the required amount on time. It all sounds well and good signing deals with each other but as it stands virtually nobody in Europe could deliver commercial amounts of lithium tomorrow. I’m sure ramping that supply up from lab level to commercial will not be without delays and problems. Can’t see the giggafactories being mothballed while they wait for supply to catch up, enter Ken with Calix lithium salt
