I think it is a very sensible thought at least. The USA hasn't got the economic clout it used to have and not only are the Chinese rapidly taking over, it seems some other major economies are siding with China. Common sense would say USA cannot continue to depreciate dollar as it will disadvantage other economies.

But I also think that gold in US dollars will have less significance in time to come for China is hoarding gold and silver and does not want to see it's value diminish just because USA is stuffing up
