I hope that you are wrong too.
For those of you who are having trouble understanding what the difficulty is, my I suggestion is that you find a road that is straight and put an Orange coloured 5 litre container down and then drive 4.5 kilometres and then try and see it ..... you will get an appreciation of just how challenging this drilling operation is and consider that the tube that is going that far spinning the drill bit and the potential for it to whip and do something unexpected in that distance ...
When we look at the animations on the computer screen it all looks so simple but in reality ..... with the distances involved things can go very wrong.
Add to the complexity is the weight of the Drill string and the need to couple lengths together and then uncouple them if the drill bit needs to be withdrawn. If the strings are 10 metres long and your down 4.5 kilometres then that is 450 lengths of very heavy steel that need to be handled.
