I read over the article and there were a couple of things I noted. It did not go into the specifics of power consumption, short of saying that it was much less than a watt. It would be interesting to see how that chip compares with Akida.

Additionally, why they say it is currently available on the Cloud in DataCenters, soon to come to on-prem, it still seems that they're not really suited for edge devices quite yet. Certainly, enough for people to evaluate them to suit their needs. The neuron counts are similar, they say one million, while I believe the Akida is 1.2 million and they aren't specific about synapses.

They are still probably about where Brainchip was late last year, getting people to evaluate their technology before they start manufacturing and sending out chips. Depending on several other factors, like the ease of integration, development tools, etc., it also remains to be seen if they are trying to woo the OEM parts market as well.

It could certainly spur Brainchip to step things up a bit, I would like to see how things turn out from any new IP sales, the delivery of the current batches of Akida processors, and whether or not they are on track to finishing up items on their roadmap.
