this is a great idea until it’s not. Often times a popular SPP will close early, sometimes very early when the targets are met or oversubscribed. Then you miss out on participation and must join in all the others that missed out or got scaled back buying on market, usually at a higher price than SPP as only the popular ones close early leaving plenty of demand. Also, many times the SPP price puts a psychological floor on the price for some time as people are reluctant to sell below that number.
I have waited and bought on market for less than SPP but also been caught out. I admit that this HZR SPP has the possibility of working in your favour as presently the SP is close to SPP price and the market in general is toppy and volatile. If the asx200 tanks it will likely take the HZR SP with it (along with the rest of the market).
i participated in this one when SP was 0.97 but it’s looking likely 0.92 will be tested now and possibly even today. You may just nail it this time with your wait and see approach.
