Can't see NST holding its share price, page-1320

The purpose of HotCopper is to discuss financial issues associated with the sharemarket and economy, and not to reassure people who may be feeling nervous about their investments (especially if the nervousness is probably warranted).

I will say that the gold mining sector is, in my opinion, the best value on an otherwise highly overvalued market at the moment, and that it should be a good investment in the longer term. If I was forced to hold on to a stock throughout a sharemarket decline, then NST would be close to the top of my list, as it should be one of the first to recover after any crash.

But when the tide goes out all boats will drop, regardless of how seaworthy they are.

If NST is good value now, it will be even better value at lower prices during a market decline.

I've decided not to hold. Maybe I'm being greedy and karma will result. Maybe I'm wrong and the shares will shoot directly to the moon from here. Or I could be right about the market and yet still miss the bottom and buy at the wrong time.

If I was going to hold then I still think that it is wise to prepare for a downside risk scenario, so that a sell at a bottom is not forced, and holders can survive to get the upside after the storm.

But that's just my opinion. Everybody is free to ignore it. DYOR.
