Cuts both ways, being leveraged increases relative gains on the way up & increases relative losses on the way down.
Also oppies tend to be a lot less liquid. Sure on days when the heads trade on high vol the oppie's vol can be good, but when the action quietens on the heads it can be very hard to sell large position in the oppies.
