    Yep, Going for scale and cost downs. "The deal for 2 gigawatt-hours of batteries is worth at least $300 million" ... that's US$1,500 for a 10kWhr battery ... or about 10% of what it currently costs Redflow to make a 10kWhr battery cell.

    "Crucially, adding storage capacity to cover longer interruptions at a solar or wind plant may not require purchasing an entirely new battery. Flow batteries require only extra electrolyte, which in ESS’s case can cost as little as $20 per kilowatt hour." ... or about 1% incremental cost vs Redflow's current cost of extra units.

    @Treed perhaps this article helps explain why I suggested Redflow should look at larger battery cells (or at least larger tanks) to take on grid scale storage?
