The court case is not unjustified considering that a lot of insiders had managed to sell their shares at peak share-price not only right after releasing the guidance but also right before the start of the consecutive downgrades. All the lawyers have to do is figure out whether the company had data indicating the downgrades were coming, that people knew, which shouldn't be too hard to do.
